5 Tips for Achieving Work Life Balance

Does anyone else feel stuck in a bit of a rut at the moment? Or is it just me?

I don’t know whether it’s the weather, or just losing momentum from the fresh start in January but I’ve been dragging my feet these past couple of weeks. And do you know what that tells me? I need to be delegating more to my virtual team.

But what if you don’t have that luxury? What’s the alternative? Keep working away on your own, gradually feeling more and more overwhelmed, getting more tired and frustrated, and eventually taking it out on your customers through your service quality.

As a business owner you will have many roles to fulfil in your life, from company duties to family time to socialising with friends. When you’re trying to fit it all in, without structure, it’s easy to feel swamped and overloaded which will lead to worry, stress and lower productivity.

Finding the perfect work life balance is rarely easy, however there are some actions that you can take to move towards that goal. Here are a few tips to get you on the road to your balanced life:

1. Get your priorities in order

Before trying to figure out how to get balance in your life, you first need to figure out what is important to you. A good way to do this is to make a list of all your roles and rate them with a scale of 1-10 of how important they are to you. Include things like business duties, family life and fitness.

2. Have structure in place

Multi-tasking is often unavoidable, however the natural high we get from doing many things at once can lead to mistakes being made.
